Hispanic woman teaching girl to play tennis

At San Diego Tennis Lessons our lessons are tailored to each student and your specific goals. Our goal is to provide lessons in a comfortable environment while maximizing your playing potential. Lessons can be conducted on our courts, your home, or in your community.

We offer private, semi-private, group clinics and camps to kids and adults of all ages. Whether you’re taking your first lesson, or haven’t played in 20 years, we are excited to work for you! The first thing we focus on is technique. You cannot be a great player, without great technique. We work on the “primary shots” for the first 20 lessons, and then transition to the “secondary shots”. Primary shots are forehands, backhands and serve. We try to get our players good enough with their primary shots so they can rally with their friends. If their goal is to play match play, or tournaments, then a heavy focus on serving is what is needed. Secondary shots require more feel and touch and are generally harder to learn. Lessons for all students focus will always focus on agility, footwork and movement. Reading the ball and movement is the most important focus after learning technique. It typically takes 20 lessons to learn the proper skills needed to read the ball properly and move to the spot where the ball bounce is, provide good spacing to the ball and hit a clean shot. All these skills will be taught by one of our instructors.
